Economist

Our client, a European institution in Luxembourg, is looking for an Economist to cover a maternity leave in its Chief Economist Department.

You will monitor and analyse macroeconomic and financial developments across the euro area and support senior decision makers with high quality research, reporting and analysis.

• Monitoring and analysing macroeconomic and financial market developments across euro area member states
• Producing economic reports, analytical papers and briefings for economic surveillance
• Identifying macro financial trends and emerging risks with quantitative tools
• Preparing presentations and briefing notes for senior management
• Working with economics, finance, funding and investment colleagues on joint projects

• A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics or a related discipline; a PhD is a plus
• Strong knowledge of macroeconomics and quantitative and econometric analysis
• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
• Proficiency with economic research, modelling and data analysis tools
• Experience in a European institution, central bank or financial institution is an advantage
